Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN Sports) – Center Pavel Datsyuk netted two goals and the Detroit Red Wings snapped their two-game losing skid with a 4-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings Saturday night at Staples Center.

Entering the game with just two goals in the season, Datsyuk delivered his finest performance so far in the season as he scored two goals, including the one that swung the momentum in favor of the Red Wings in the first period.

The Kings drew the first blood on an unassisted goal by center Mike Richards in the 6:37 mark of the first period.

However, the Red Wings fired right back at their opponents with an equalizer coming from Datsyuk in the 7:14 minute of the period.

Datsyuk’s first-period goal apparently sparked the Red Wings, who got a pair of goals from Niklas Kronwall and Justin Abdelkader in the second stanza.

Finally in the third period, Datsyuk put the last nail in the coffin with another goal to dismay most of the 18,118 fans at Staples Center.

The Red Wings recorded 38 shots, 8 takeaways, and 31 won faceoffs. The Kings tallied 24 shots and 27 won faceoffs in the defeat.

The Red Wings ((10-7-1, 21pts) will next take on the struggling Anaheim Ducks Sunday. The Kings, who had a three-game winning streak halted, seek a return to the win column as they clash with the St. Louis Blues Tuesday.
